India has joined an elite group of countries that have perfected the controls for tailless flying wing technology.

The DRDO successfully completes a flight test of the Autonomous Flying Wing Technology Demonstrator, an indigenous high-speed flying-wing UAV.

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully flew the Autonomous Flying Wing Technology Demonstrator, an indigenous high-speed flying-wing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), from the Aeronautical Test Range in Chitradurga, Karnataka.

The Aeronautical Development Establishment of the DRDO designed and built this UAV. This aircraft made its debut flight in July 2022, followed by six flight trials in various developmental configurations using two in-house constructed prototypes.

These flight tests resulted in the creation of a strong aerodynamic and control system, integrated real-time and hardware-in-the-loop simulation, and a cutting-edge Ground Control Station.

The aircraft prototype, which has a sophisticated arrowhead wing platform, is designed and built using an indigenously created light-weight carbon prepreg composite material. In addition, the composite structure, which is infused with fibre interrogators for health monitoring, is an example of ‘Aatmanirbharta’ in aircraft technology.

Samir Shah, a veteran television executive, will take over for Richard Sharp, who resigned after breaking rules with a loan to Boris Johnson.

Shah, the founder and CEO of Juniper TV, was born in Aurangabad, India, and migrated to England in 1960. He holds a bachelor’s degree in geography from the University of Hull and a PhD from the University of Oxford.

Mohit Bakaya, his half brother, is the controller of the BBC’s flagship station, Radio 4.

During his tenure as non-executive director, Shah criticised the BBC, claiming in 2008 that the “One BBC ethos” accidentally created a “monolithic posture that appears anti-competitive.”

His viewpoints were expressed in an essay titled The BBC, Viewed from Inside and Out, which included in the book The Price of Plurality, which was published in 2008. In the essay, Shah questioned if the BBC should be the exclusive recipient of the licence fee in the future.

Shah would take over for Richard Sharp, who stepped down as BBC chairman in April.

Charlie Munger rose from humble beginnings during the Great Depression to become a financial icon.

Warren Buffett with Charlie Munger, who passed away at the age of 99

Charlie Munger, called the ‘Oracle of Pasadena’ for his investment ability, began working at his grandfather’s grocery shop during the Great Depression, earning only $2 for a 12-hour shift.

Buffett Connection: Despite working at the same grocery business in Omaha throughout the 1930s, Munger and Warren Buffett did not meet until 1959, when they began a lifelong relationship that changed the investment landscape.

Reflections on the Great Depression: Munger, who was born in 1924 and lived through the Great Depression, believed that people nowadays are more dissatisfied despite encountering less adversity. During a Daily Journal meeting, he noticed this shift in viewpoint.

Jealousy as a Driving Force: Munger observed that jealousy plays a big influence in people’s dissatisfaction, claiming that even with a 600% increase in living standards, people might still feel miserable when comparing themselves to others.

Stock Market Insights: During the worst recession since the Great Depression in 2009, Munger emphasised the necessity of not waiting for the economy to stabilise before investing in equities, warning that it might be too late by then.

Munger, a World War II veteran, enrolled in the United States Army Air Corps. Despite not finishing his undergraduate degree, he graduated from Harvard Law School in 1948 and practised law in Los Angeles before entering the investing business.

Munger co-founded the law company that is now known as Munger, Tolles & Olson before shifting to investing in the mid-1960s, which marked a dramatic turn in his career trajectory.

Meeting Buffett: Munger and Warren Buffett first met at the Omaha Club in 1959. Their first meeting opened the way for a long-term relationship, with Munger describing Buffett as “no ordinary human being.”

Time Invested in Friendship: Munger’s lengthy chats with Buffett piqued his wife’s interest, forcing her to question the time invested. Munger’s remark demonstrated his deep affection and respect for Buffett.

Munger’s net worth was assessed by Forbes to be $2.6 billion at the time of his death. His journey from a difficult background during the Great Depression to becoming an investment legend demonstrates his tenacity and accomplishment.

Marianna Budanova, Kyrylo Budanov‘s wife, is said to have been poisoned with heavy metals.

According to sources, the wife of Ukraine’s military intelligence head, who reportedly threatened to “kill Russians anywhere on the face of the earth until Ukraine’s complete victory,” has been poisoned.

Marianna Budanova, Kyrylo Budanov’s wife, is suffering from heavy metal toxicity, according to Reuters, citing Ukrainian media.

The alleged incident occurred just weeks after the Russian government announced that Budanov and three other military personnel would face terrorist charges in connection with drone strikes on Russian territory and parts of Ukraine currently seized by Russian invading forces.

According to Reuters, the Ukrainian media site Babel cited an unnamed source as stating Budanova is hospitalised and finishing treatment for the poisoning.

Meanwhile, Ukrainska Pravda cited a source as claiming the poison was likely placed in her food, and other members of Ukraine’s military intelligence service have been poisoned as well, according to Reuters.

According to the news agency, Budanov, who has played a crucial part in clandestine operations against Russian troops during the war, reportedly stated that he would “keep killing Russians anywhere on the face of this world until the complete victory of Ukraine.”

Russia charged military leaders with terrorism in early October, including Main Directorate of Intelligence Chief Budanov, Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk, Ukrainian Naval Forces Commander Oleksiy Neizhpapa, and 383rd Unmanned Aviation Brigade Commander Serhiy Burdenyuk.

Ukrainian forces have deployed unmanned aerial vehicles to launch strikes inside Russian territory, broadening the scope of the fight beyond the frontlines.

Russia has also deployed drone technology in the battle, hitting military targets as well as infrastructure assets like as grain storage facilities.

Ukraine’s annexation of Crimea, Moscow, Belgorod, Bryansk, and Kursk have all been subjected to heavy drone strikes.

(Elon Musk)The billionaire has also expressed interest in assisting with Gaza reconstruction.

During a chat with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday, industrialist Elon Musk agreed that “there is no other option” than to destroy the Palestinian organisation Hamas in order to build a brighter future for Gaza.

Musk paid a rare visit to Israel during a four-day respite in conflict and staged a live online debate with Israeli President Binyamin Netanyahu.

The owner of the social network X agrees with Netanyahu that Hamas has genocidal intents towards Jews. He does, however, express a desire to assist in the reconstruction of Gaza once the war is done.

“You must destroy Hamas if you want security, peace, and a better life for Gazans.” “First, get rid of the poisonous regime, as Germany and Japan did,” Netanyahu stated.

“There is no other option,” Musk, who also controls Tesla and SpaceX, said, adding, “I would like to help too.”

During the discussion, Netanyahu showed Musk footage from Hamas body cameras and other sources of the October 7 incident.

We must neutralise those who intend to murder,” the magnate emphasised, adding that we must “put an end to the propaganda that is training people to be murderers in the future,” before allowing Gaza to “prosper.”

Yemen’s government has called for the Houthis to be designated as a terrorist organisation worldwide.

Yemen’s internationally recognised government has asked the United States and the international community to designate the Houthis as terrorists for endangering ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

Yemen Interior Minister Maj. Gen. Ibrahim Haidan said on Sunday during a meeting with foreign diplomats in Riyadh that America should reclassify the Houthi militia as a terrorist organisation not only for threatening maritime traffic off Yemeni shores, but also for killing Yemeni children, abusing human rights, and acting as a proxy group for Iran.

The appeal came as the US Central Command announced on Monday that the Houthis had shot two ballistic missiles at the American destroyer USS Mason shortly after it intervened in the Gulf of Aden to thwart the attempted hijacking of the Israeli-linked tanker Central Park.

The missiles missed their aim.

The same naval ship was hit by Houthi missiles in the Red Sea in 2016.

In retaliation for Israel’s military actions in Gaza, the Houthis captured the vehicle carrier Galaxy Leader in the Red Sea on November 19 and promised to capture and launch missile and drone strikes on Israeli-owned or controlled ships.

The Yemeni government said the new Houthi attacks on ships in the Red Sea backed the country’s long-standing calls for the group to be blacklisted.

According to Faisal Al-Majidi, undersecretary at Yemen’s Ministry of Justice, the Houthis have been eligible for classification for years, ever since they began laying siege to cities, recruiting minors, blowing up opponents’ homes, and kidnapping people.

According to Al-Majidi, the Houthi missile strike on Aden International Airport in December 2020, which targeted a plane carrying Yemeni government ministers, was “enough to classify them as a terrorist organisation not only by the United States of America, but also by international institutions such as the United Nations, and the entire globe.”

Following the Galaxy Leader incident, White House national security spokesperson John Kirby stated last week that the US contemplated reclassifying the Houthis as terrorists.

The Yemeni government claimed that the classification would make it difficult for Houthi officials to travel throughout the world, impose a strain on their financial resources, and stymie their efforts to achieve international legitimacy.

“The world would recognise that the Yemeni government is fighting a terrorist organisation,” he went on to say.
